💉 Introduction

Welcome to Mythic Modifications, your one-stop shop for magical and mundane body mods of all sorts. Here, the Adopted can get various tattoos, piercings, scarification, and other sorts of modifications for a reasonable fee of IOUs, chores around the shop, and for trade. The owners, Eliora, the piercer, and her husband Leopold, the tattoo artist, are often mentioned as the perfect Seelie-Unseelie couple. In fact, the locals use their names instead of "Romeo and Juliet" when referring to star-crossed lovers.

Modifications range from purely aesthetic to fully functional magic, depending on price. Feel free to use this image to map out piercings and this one to map out tattoos.

💉 Building

"Welcome, welcome!" the woman with the spider's body calls behind her as someone walks through the door, waving one of her six legs at the new customer as her two human hands deftly work on piercing another client's navel.

"How can we help you," asks the gentleman with the green, mossy beard hunched over the counter. "I'm Leo; I do all the tattoos. And that's my wife Eliora, she's our piercer." He pulls binders of sketches and flash tattoos out and sets them on the counter in a pile. "Flip through those if you need some help coming up with a design. Otherwise, I'm happy to talk you through something totally custom. I can enchant 'em too, if you want. We've got your basic aesthetic magic: They can move, they can glow..." He trails off, figuring his client's getting the idea. "But protection sigils've been real popular since the dragon attack." A beat. "Real magic like that's gonna cost you a bit extra, though."

The leshy gestures with his head, his green hair shagging in his eyes, over to a nearby counter filled with glittering jewels. "If you were lookin' for a piercing, that's our jewelry case. Mundane stuff's all the way left, our most powerful magic's all the way right. Ellie can walk you through it better than I can when she's done." There's plenty of seating up near the front desk, and a number of sketches and paintings for sale near the window. Anyone whose gaze lingers too long on any one piece will pull Leo's attention towards them; it's not every day people appreciate his non-tattoo related art, and he's a bit bashful about it.

Eliora quickly finishes, cleans up her workspace, and skitters to the front. The other client's beaming, staring down at their stomach, delighted, as she leaves. "Hi there." She wraps her arms around one of her husband's, and gestures to herself with one of her spider legs. "Ellie. Let me know if you have any questions."

She follows her customer to the jewelry case, explaining on the quick trip that they source all their jewelry from Gabryel's Smithy, and their enchanted stuff made a quick stop at Fang's Enchantment Shop. "It's nice that we can all get along and help each other out. Anyway- Let me know if you want me to get anything out for you to take a closer look at."

Behind the front desk and waiting area, there are several rooms curtained off for privacy. The pair explain that they also have a couple other employees: A will-o-the-wisp named Kellzi who specializes in branding, and an olsen, Benara, who does scarification, but they're both out at lunch and won't be back until a little later.

As they give their clients the quick tour, they'll notice the place is meticulously maintained. Even among the multitude of candles and knick-knacks around the shop, they clearly take hygiene as seriously as any human tattoo parlour. They'll also rattle off a list of guest artists they have planned to come by at various times of the year as they take their client back to the front desk; none of the names are familiar to the Adopted, but the fae in the shop certainly look impressed.
