The Library
It's quiet here. The rustle of leaves, the chill of morning, the fragrant musk of old books and decaying paper. There's no NPC to greet the Adopted, no one to welcome them in to look around. Yet, there's a foreboding sense of being watched. Of every movement and choice being observed keenly. Noted. Digested.
Something's here.
You are not alone.
Worry not, it seems content just to watch. So sit, read, explore, and comb the shelves, the library is yours to enjoy.

The room is made of all rounded edges, the only hard and sharp edges to be found are in the books themselves. The room is warmly lit with lanterns of golden color that burn with no flame and streaming sun or moonlight that peeks through the branches and windows and arches. Every wall is lines with shelves that have all manner of books crowding them: from children's stories to horror filled magical ramblings, from soft romance to tales of mutilation and science. Some of these books are of the Adopted's world - no matter what one - and some are of Faerie itself. Yet, most are written in many different scripts.
Odd, you were just considering finding a book on the economical structure of Faerie and its greater regions, why is exactly that at the top of your stack?
Not all books are meant just for reading, some are meant to be experienced. So, do not be alarmed when you open a book and the pages tear and crease and shift color and the story itself, quite literally, unfolds before you. This can take minutes to, well, that 800 page book isn't going to be done in an hour. Luckily, there are plenty of comfortable chairs to get cozy in.
Once the story comes to his eventful end, the book pieces itself back together again as if it was never damaged. It is then that the Adopted can turn the pages and examine it more closely. Just don't close it or you'll be watching it all over again.
While some books look as new as if they were scripted the day before, some are so old that they are falling apart and turning to dust. Fear not, it's merely in queue!
There's a self healing system to the library that magically repairs each book of its age, wear, and indecent scribbling in the margins. But there are many books and only so much magic that can go around. So, should the Adopted find a book they desperately need, it might be number 10,873 in queue. Check back in a hundred years.
Oddly... most of the books are in disrepair.
While the Adopted are welcome to spend every waking and sleeping moment in the library (it likes the company. it aches in silence. it bleeds ink.), books are always available for the Adopted to borrow and take back to their room to read or watch at their leisure. But after a fortnight? That book they were reading might grow a pair of legs and walk itself back if the Adopted fail to return it. However, stealing is an option! The Adopted will just have to get creative on how to stop their book from taking itself home.
And don't write in the books or tear out pages. Most books will get offended and snap right shut and leave without a goodbye. Goodness, have the Adopted no manners?
All manner of books can be found and read here, but when it comes to knowledge about Faerie, its magic, courts, and rulers? There is only the sparsest of knowledge. The books on complex magic become blurry and indecipherable. The high level sciences of the area are in languages and equations that seem as if gibberish. Even the intermediate children's books are complex and difficult to gather information from. And it seems not all of it is language barrier.
