THE ALCHEMIST

⚗️ Introduction

Welcome to Fen's Alchemy Shop. Don't touch unless you plan to purchase it, too many things in here could explode for Adopted to go around touching things like children. Oh, and stay out of the back.

While yes, at times Fen offers quests with special rewards, these are what are available on a normal day, though she will not provide strong alchemical items to the Adopted currently, those are quest rewards only (for now...). The Adopted are welcome to barter repayment in IOUs, chores, helping around the town (NOT her shop), and for trade.

Note: This is not an RP post and the NPC is yours to play with. This is meant for world building and is by no means a limitation to your imagination. Comments are disabled, but if you have any questions, please feel free to contact us via FAQ or Mod Contact.

⚗️ Building

When entering through the storefront, the Adopted are welcomed to the acrid scent of science, the herbal notes of dried plants, and the perfume of fragrance that's hard to pinpoint due to the shear density of it. Looking around, they will find all manner of potions, elixirs, books, and many other bottled items.

Fen keeps the storefront clean and tidy for her customers. She seems nonchalant, devil may care, and at ease as Adopted browse, but her gaze is keen and sharp, never leaving them for a second.

Just off to the side of the main area is the ingredients section where all manner of alchemical components, from different metals to different beast and parts. While Fen will help some, she doesn't really humor amateur alchemists and will brush off most beginner level questions.

There's a touch of decay in the air here, but that's nothing of concern as when looking around they will find all manner of things: moth wings, chimera teeth, pegasus feathers, dragons blood...

The Front Room Alchemy Lab is where Fen can be found working on projects when business is slow. She will allow adopted to use the station as well. Though she's extremely particular about how it's cared for and will complain loudly if they leave a mess.

There are a number of books on alchemy and science, all of them with fae script notes in the margins. The writing is nearly illegible. Good luck.

This is the door to the backroom. It's closed tight and locked. Fen will coldly and harshly scold any that get too close and will kill anyone who tries to sneak in. She has a zero tolerance for those who meddle in her private business and will not hesitate.
